There was a very clear difference in the initial overlay that the older map of Madagascar from 1895 was a lot smaller than the current shape of the country. I had to stretch and move the older map around a lot to try and get it to fit into current times. The 1895 map itself is very accurate to current times. All the geographical places labeled, oceans, islands, etc are in the correct spots and show grand detail. The different colors on the maps are showing different levels of meters. I translated the words inside the boxes in the legend and they are just describing the colors. For example, "vert fonce" means dark green.
